Everything you need to know about VKTlearn — from curriculum and class size to enrollment and what a typical day looks like.
Who we are and how we operate.
VKTlearn operates as a Texas private school. We follow Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards and are led by a Texas-certified teacher. While we are not publicly accredited through a traditional accrediting body, our curriculum alignment and instruction meet rigorous academic standards designed to prepare students for success in high school, college, and beyond.
No — VKTlearn is a private microschool, not a homeschool curriculum provider (though our asynchronous curriculum access can be used by homeschool families). Our live programs provide structured, teacher-led instruction with set schedules, attendance, and academic accountability — more like a traditional school, just much smaller.
We serve students in grades K–12 across all programs — from our self-paced curriculum access to our live general education and special education tracks.
VKTlearn is based in Texas and serves families throughout the state. Our live programs are conducted online, so students can join from anywhere in Texas with a reliable internet connection.
What your child will learn and how.
Our curriculum is TEKS-aligned across all subjects and grade levels. We draw from high-quality instructional resources and teacher-created materials to ensure every lesson is rigorous, relevant, and tailored to the students in each class. For our asynchronous program, students access structured, self-paced lessons in Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies.
Yes. Every lesson, assessment, and learning objective is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. This ensures your child receives an education that is both rigorous and recognized within the state of Texas.
Our General Education and Special Education programs are fully live and interactive — your child will see their teacher and classmates in real time, ask questions, and participate in discussions. Our Curriculum Access program is self-paced and asynchronous, with no live component.
In our General Education Live program, students meet Monday through Thursday for 3 hours of live instruction daily (15 hours/week), covering core subjects with breaks built in. Our Special Education Live program meets 4 days per week for 2 hours daily. Both programs include structured lessons, guided practice, and time for questions — all in a small group of 8 students or fewer.
Every live class is capped at 8 students maximum. This is not a goal — it is a hard limit. Small classes are the foundation of everything we do, and we will not exceed this number under any circumstances.
What you'll need to get started.
Students need a reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a quiet space to learn. We use common video conferencing tools that work on most devices. A printer is helpful but not required for the asynchronous curriculum.
All curriculum materials are provided digitally through our learning platform. For live programs, teachers may recommend simple household supplies for hands-on activities, but there are no expensive textbook purchases required.
Pricing, plans, and what's included.
We offer flexible payment options including monthly, semester, and annual plans. Curriculum access subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly. Live program tuition is set per semester. Contact us for current live program rates and available payment plans.
Yes. For our asynchronous curriculum access, additional children are just $4/month or $40/year per extra child. We also offer family pricing for live programs — ask about this during your discovery call.
Live program tuition includes all live instruction, curriculum access, assessments, grading, weekly parent updates, and quarterly conferences. Curriculum access subscriptions include full platform access, self-paced lessons, and parent progress tracking. There are no hidden fees.
